How do I log into my Canvas email? ›

Select "Information" from the left-hand menu. Locate "Email" from this sub-menu. Your web browser should open a new tab and either ask you to sign in or automatically sign you in, depending on the selected preference you have chosen before.

Instructure, Inc. is an educational technology company based in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. It is the developer and publisher of Canvas, a web-based learning management system (LMS), and Mastery Connect, an assessment management system.

Through the Quiz Log function, the system will detect when the person taking the online test opens a new tab or browser, recording and reporting any suspicious action. Canvas can also avert cheating by locking the browser during the exam. Canvas tracks the time spent by the student on each question.

Verify that you are using the correct username and password. If you use more than one Canvas URL, make sure you are using the correct login and password for each Canvas URL. If your login and password were given to you from your institution and you are having trouble logging in, please contact your institution.

It is possible that the browser is not compatible with Canvas. If you have the same issue, try another computer. Sometimes your browser's Cache needs to be cleared, especially if you changed your password recently or if you bookmark the Canvas Login page.

However, access to Canvas classes is granted by the course instructor and the Canvas system administrator. Your Canvas username is your University Single Sign-on username. If your email address is jjones0101@lions.piedmont.edu, then your University username will be jjones0101.

Authenticate with your password or security questions. Click “Send a link to reset your password.” You will receive an e-mail containing a link to reset your password.

If you set up your own Canvas account, go to "Login" and click on the "Forgot Password?" link. Enter the login information associated with your Canvas account and click the "Request Password" button. You'll be sent an email prompting you to reset your password.

If you do not yet have an account, you can create an account when you accept the course invitation. If you are not using Canvas through your institution, you can create your own account. Your instructor will provide you with a join code to link you directly to the course.

Accessing Student View

Most pages on your course Canvas site will provide access to the Student View through a small icon on the top right of the page. Some pages, such as Grades, Files, and Panopto Recordings, won't display this icon on the top right.

The Students page displays a list of all students in your trackers. To send a generic activation email to an individual student, locate the student listing. Then click the Send Student Activation Email link.

Your Canvas password is the same as your Google/Chromebook password (student id #).
